Oral health studies on adolescents are sparse. We characterized the patterns of health services utilization and unmet needs for tooth decay. Large unmet treatment needs, relatively low experience of restorative treatment, and few tooth extractions were moderated by socio-economic variables.

Tooth brushing is an effective tool to mechanically remove plaque. This study determines the tooth brushing frequency (at least once a day) in Mexican schoolchildren. The author observed that maternal characteristics are associated with the oral health behaviour of their children.
