The Effect of Interleukin 23 Levels on Clinical and Laboratory Parameters of Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.241
Pages:

Synopsis:
Ankylosing spondylitis is a progressive disease that should be monitored routinely throughout a patient’s life. IL-23 should be used as a clinical marker, and the findings can be strengthened by the combined information obtained from Ankylosing Spondylitis activity indexes analyses.

ABSTRACT

Objective: In the present study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between interleukin 23 (IL-23) and the clinical and laboratory parameters in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Ankylosing spondylitis causes structural and functional inability, particularly in the axial skeleton, and results in the inflammatory lower back pain. At the same time, we aimed to investigate the relationship between IL-23 levels and disease related variables in patients with AS.

Ultrasonographic Measurement of the Femoral Cartilage Thickness in Patients with Behçet’s Disease

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2013.337
Pages:
728–31
Synopsis:
In this study, the femoral cartilage thickness of patients with Behçet’s disease (BD) was evaluated and it was found that the cartilage was thinner in patients with BD and that arthritis seems to be associated with this decrease.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate femoral cartilage thickness in patients with Behçet’s disease (BD) by using ultrasonography.
