In our small study, patients with carotid artery stent placement who received dual antiplatelet therapy had a significant reduction in gastrointestinal bleeding with omeprazole use when compared to those without omeprazole. There was also no effect of concomitant use of omeprazole and clopidogrel on antiplatelet inhibition.
