Synopsis: 
Tangential calcaneal X-rays were performed on 30 patients with fractured calcaneus and 57 control individuals with normal calcaneus. Results demonstrated that tangential X-ray view of the calcaneus can be used to evaluate its radiographic anatomy and to measure its width.

Aim: To investigate the radiographic anatomical characters of the bones in the fractured calcaneus by using tangential X-rays.

Anatomical Features of Posterior Maxillary Teeth for the Positioning of Mini-screws in Beagle Dogs

Synopsis: 
The study aims to obtain accurate anatomical data on the posterior maxillary teeth in beagle dogs, the present study used solid samples for maxillary bone measurements to identify a suitable implantation point(s) for MSIs, as well as provide a simple and feasible method for establishing MSI animal models.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the anatomical morphology of the posterior maxillary teeth in beagle dogs to provide measurements for the positioning of mini-screw implants in the root furcation area.

Methods: The general conditions of the posterior maxillary teeth from 15 beagle dogs were observed. Afterwards, anatomical measurements of the related root furcation area were conducted using landmarks.

With the combined use of anatomical and imaging methods, the subtle anatomy of the atlanto-axial joint and related structures as well as their relations can be clearly and directly observed.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the anatomy and medical imaging characteristics in a study observing the atlanto-axial joint (AAJ) and related structures.

Methods: Eight cadaveric specimens of the AAJ segment were studied with both anatomical and imaging methods. The vertebral arteries of the AAJ segment (VA-A), the first and second cervical nerves (CN1, CN2) and synovial fold (SF) of the AAJ were observed and measured.
