In impaired glucose tolerance patients, administration of linagliptin during three months decreased glucose levels at 90 and 120 minutes after a 75-g oral dextrose load and area under the curve of glucose, meanwhile metformin just decreased insulin at 0 minutes.

ABSTRACT

Aim: To evaluate the effect of linagliptin vs. metformin on insulin secretion, insulin sensitivity and glucose control in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT).
