Issue:

Synopsis:
Adipokines are adipocyte-secreted peptides that are involved in several pathways that lead to insulin resistance, inflammation, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. Increased levels of resistin and/or decreased levels of adiponectin are associated with cardiovascular mortality and the development of hypertension.

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the levels of the adipokines, resistin and adiponectin in normotensive and high normal blood pressure patients.
