The M.Sc. in Food and Agro-Processing Technology (FAPT) is a professional programme designed to produce knowledgeable and highly skilled technical graduates who are on the cutting edge of innovation in the Food and Agro-Processing sectors. Graduates will gain a competitive advantage for employment in both the private and public sectors, or may be motivated to persue entrepreneurial opportunities.
In order to be admitted into the Bachelor’s programme, candidates must have satisfied the general Faculty entry requirements and have passed two units of Chemistry, Biology or Physics at CAPE (or equivalent).
Graduates of this programme will form a core of professionals who will be competent in:
• The recognition, evaluation and provision of basic control options for workplace hazards; • The development, implementation and management of basic OESH programmes;

Programme Objectives: 1. To produce a cadre of leaders in science for academia (research and teaching), government and quasi-governmental organizations and industry: exponents of science and technology and conduits for S & T driven change and development.
