The B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering is offered through the Electronics Unit in collaboration with the Department of Physics, within the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, Mona Campus.
The MPhil degree is by thesis and must not normally take more than 3 years (a
departmental regulation). This is a research degree and candidates are expected
to have qualities necessary for independent research.
The major goal of the programme is to produce graduates who are universally accepted as being able to provide appropriate solutions to digital technology related problems, being experienced by organizations operating within Jamaica and the Caribbean.
BSc Special (Geography) degree requires a minimum of 56 credits in Geography of which at least 44 should be in Part II (Levesl II & III) courses. See Faculty Handbook for course details.
A BSc Special (Geology) degree equires at least 64 credits in Part II Geology courses in addition to Level I Geology and Chemistry courses and Preliminary Physics courses. See Faculty Handbook for course details.
BSc (Geography, Geology) General degree requires a minimum of 44 credits of which at least 32 should be from Level II and Level III courses. Entry requirements for a BSc General degree in Geography include a pass in Geography at CXC or GCE ‘O’ levels, and two GCE ‘A’ level passes in approved science subjects. Entry requirements for a BSc General (Geology) degree are two GCE ‘A’ level passes in approved science subjects. Students are advised that compulsory field work in the Department of Geography and Geology is carried out on Saturdays.
