Mr. Ricaldo Pryce was selected by the American Chemical Society (ACS) from a group of over 200 applicants from the Americas to attend the Annual Summer School on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development. The summer school took place between July 11 and 18, 2023. The curriculum provided a comprehensive exploration of green chemistry, a discipline dedicated to designing chemical products and processes that minimize their environmental impact. At the core of this innovative program were the principles of sustainability, challenging conventional paradigms and inspiring attendees to create a more harmonious relationship between science and nature.

Reflecting on his experience, Ricaldo noted, “Beyond the academic insights, my experience at the summer school was enriched by interactions with luminaries and pioneers in the field. These interactions not only expanded my intellectual horizons but also provided a platform to establish connections that transcended borders. My academic network flourished as I forged relationships with peers and mentors, each a potential collaborator on future projects aimed at shaping a more sustainable world. In retrospect, the Summer School on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development in Golden, Colorado, was an unparalleled journey of enlightenment and growth.”

Ricaldo further shared that he carries with him a newfound commitment to advancing green chemistry and sustainable development.

Currently, Ricaldo is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Paul Reese.
