Dr. Marvadeen Singh-Wilmot (Senior Lecturer, Department of Chemistry), Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI Mona and her colleague Professor Lucia Mani (University of Bologna) received a grant of 39,990 euros (approximately 6.9 million JMD) from the University of Bologna’s Global South Fund for a project entitled “crXstalline Future”. The project will 1). fully fund 2-3 undergraduate students who plan to pursue graduate studies in Chemistry for 2 months (June and July 2025) at the University of Bologna for their CHEM3711 research projects 2). contribute to the payment for the new single crystal diffractometer which is being installed in crXstal and 3). fund faculty exchange of the PIs between Chemistry Department, UWI Mona and Chemistry Department, University of Bologna.
