Exploring Sunken Secrets

The Geography and Geology team from The University of the West Indies, Mona, participated in the “Sunken Secrets of the Caribbean Sea: Protecting Underwater Cultural Heritage” student and staff engagement session today. With Jamaica’s deep and vibrant cultural heritage, the Department was pleased to collaborate in supporting this important and informative initiative.

The session provided an engaging forum for students and staff to explore issues surrounding underwater cultural heritage, including the effects of climate change and the role of emerging technologies in advancing underwater exploration and research.

We look forward to building on these discussions and continuing collaborative efforts to support the preservation and understanding of underwater cultural heritage.
