Final Science For Today for 2019 Delivers Lecture and More

Not only were audience members treated in person to a stimulating lecture themed "Abandon Ship? A Science Take on Disaster Risk Reduction and Small Island Resilience in light of Dorian", which featured presentations from FST representatives Dr. Tannecia Stephenson, Dr. Donovan Campbell and Mr. Sheldon Grant (ODPEM) - but the opportunity was provided for watching the event remotely by persons who could not physically attend, through the live stream made available on the faculty's Facebook page (See link below). The event was cheerfully moderated by the vibrant, Dr. Sherene James-Williamson, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the UWI Mona.

In addition, Head of the Meteorological Services Climate Branch , Jacqueline Spence presented awards on behalf of the Goverment of Jamaica to members of the faculty, for their work on the recently published IPCC Land Report. The recipients of the awards are as follows: Dr. Donovan Campbell (HoD, Department of Geography and Geology which hosted this month's staging of the public lecture), Dr. Adrian Spence and Prof. Noureddine Benkeblia (shown respectively in the photos below).
