Final-Year Geography Student Wins Top Prize in World Water Day Article Competition

Miss Adrianna Wright, a final-year student in the Department of Geography and Geology, was awarded first prize in the World Water Day article competition for her piece on the theme “Climate Resilience and Inclusive Water Access in Jamaica.” The competition was organised by the Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate Change, with awards sponsored by the Ministry and the National Water Commission.

The award was presented at the World Water Day Exhibition held on March 20, 2026, at The UWI, Mona, by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Wayne Robertson (1), alongside Dr Arpita Mandal (2), a senior lecturer specialising in hydrological research and one of Adrianna’s lecturers.
