On August 1, 2021, Prof. Marcia Roye (Biotechnology Centre) assumed responsibilities as the new Director of Graduate Studies and Research, The UWI Mona.  Up until her appointment, Prof. Roye was the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research in FST. Under her watch, many Faculty graduate processes were streamlined and there were significant innovations within the graduate and research portfolio. She increased the Faculty’s throughput rate and piloted at least six new graduate programmes. Prof. Roye is also an outstanding researcher focussing on molecular virology. Among her many achievements is the prestigious L’Oreal-UNESCO Special Fellowship “In the footsteps of Marie Curie” which she received in 2011. FST is very proud of Prof. Marcia Roye.
