On April 19, 2023, members from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Engineering met with delegates from the University of Jinan after the ceremonial signing of a MoU and Student Exchange Agreement in the Council Room at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. The visit follows a virtual MoU signing on July 6, 2022, during the launch of the China-Caribbean Development Center, established in Jinan, Shandong province, to strengthen cooperation with Caribbean countries. Under the terms of the agreement, The UWI and the University of Jinan commit to work together to promote cooperation and exchange in a range of areas. These include facilitating students and staff exchanges for sharing knowledge and expertise, enhancing research capabilities, and broadening the academic focus areas of both institutions.
