FST Observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities | December 3

As part of the FST’s inclusion strategy, we pause to observe today, December 3, 2021 as the United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities. We take the opportunity to bring awareness and educate our Faculty on disability inclusion which is essential to protecting the basic human rights and fundamental freedoms of all our staff and students with disabilities. Today, we reaffirm the FST’s commitment to removing all obstacles to the prosperity and well-being of the disabled members of our community as we highlight the contributions that all have made to the growth and success of our Faculty.  With the observance of this day we embrace the opportunity to recognize the achievements of our students and staff with disabilities whose talents and abilities continue to contribute to the “greatness” of the FST. In a short interview we featured Miss Ginnel Peart, a recent graduate (2021) from the Faculty who shared her FSTeXperience as a student with a disability. Click here to view interview.

Let us pass the word on today so that all of Jamaica, like us, can recognize and empower all people with disabilities and move toward a more enabling and inclusive society.
