The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), The University of the West Indies, Mona congratulates Shari Oliver, an undergraduate student in Physics and Computing and the 2024/2025 President of the FST Guild Committee, on being awarded the VM Master Plan Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The award was presented through the 2025 VM Scholars Programme, which provided more than $8 million in scholarships and bursaries to over 70 students across Jamaica. Support was given at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, with a focus on STEM disciplines and the built environment, as well as a special bursary for VM Pensioners.
Beyond financial assistance, the programme also offers mentorship to its scholars, helping them to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve their academic and career goals.Oliver’s award highlights both her achievements as a Physics student and her leadership as President of the FST Guild Committee. The Faculty celebrates this well-earned recognition and wishes her continued success.
