The Faculty of Science and Technology expresses its gratitude to Mrs. Miram Lindo for 30 years and seven months of outstanding service to the University. Mrs. Lindo began her tenure with the UWI in 1990 in the Office of Student Services. Over the years she received several promotions and by 2000 was transferred to the Department of Chemistry where she served as the Administrative Officer for eleven years. Her organizational skills and efficiency in execution of assigned tasks coupled with her strong managerial skills did not go unnoticed and by May 2011 she took up the post of Administrative Officer for the Faculty of Science and Technology. She served the Faculty faithfully up until her retirement on September 30, 2020. Mrs. Lindo’s name became synonymous with the Faculty and her administrative leadership is responsible for many of the Faculty’s achievements of the last decade. She was also a motivator and team builder and a passionate advocate and supporter of the Faculty’s students. The Faculty recognized her service at a small function held on September 29, 2020 where current and former Deans, Heads of Departments, colleagues and students paid tribute to Mrs. Lindo. FST will certainly miss her. We wish her well as she starts the next phase of her life journey. Walk good Mrs. Lindo… job well done!
