International Community Flocks First Staging of ITS2019 in Jamaica

The highly anticipated ITS2019 took front and centre within the Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI Mona all of this week as the conference hosted by the Institute of Intelligent Systems in collaboration with The University of the West Indies, Mona took place under the theme “Challenges in Artificial Intelligence – Pushing the Boundaries of ITS”.

Attendees which along with local persons included those from the USA, Canda, Japan and Ethiopia to name a few, were treated to workshops and tutorials; presentations of accepted full papers, short papers and posters along with a stimulating panel discussion entitled "Intelligent Tutoring Systems and Artificial Intelligence: Changing Education and Impacting Business”. Presentations were led by professionals from the industry, government representatives, and academia locally and internationally, including local Conference Chair and member of the FST family, Dr. Andre Coy who spoke on intelligent systems to facilitate the deaf in classrooms with no interpreter.
