Jordon Freeman Receives 2019 Governor General’s Achievement Award

"...Nine persons were recognised for outstanding academic achievements and the impact of their volunteerism on improving the quality of life for less fortunate persons.

Shavane Romaro Clarke and Jen-Marie Althea Pryce were the outstanding awardees for Portland, with Mikayla Aaliyah Mile and Ruth Wakelin West saluted for their achievements in St Thomas. Renaldo Alphonso Facey, Asha-Gaye Carlese Cowell, and Catherine Kimberly Goodall were the awardees from St Andrew, with Jordon Luther Freeman and Calvin Augustus Hunter, the Kingston awardees."

Jordon Freeman is an MPhil Biotechnology student at the Unviersity of the West Indies, Mona and he  has been the recipient of several awards including the 2018 Innovation Youth Award for his reduced-calorie "Healthy Sugar"; and the 2019 Total StartUpper of the Year award for the production of degradable plastics through his organization, Jamaica Bio-Plastics.
