On the 4th October, 2019, the Centre for Marine Sciences and the Port Royal Marine Laboratory partnered with the Urban Development Company to replant mangrove seedlings along the Port Royal Main Road (near the airport strip) in honour of the National Tree Planting Day. The joint team along with members from the Port Royal Community replanted 280 mangrove seedlings. Following the planting event, Professor Mona Webber presented on ‘Mangroves and their Importance’ to an audience, including community members, at the Fort Rocky Lagoon.
