New Research | Fuzzy Mathematics as a decision making tool

Fuzzy Mathematics is a new branch of Mathematics which is finding multiple uses across numerous fields such as control systems engineering, image processing, power engineering, industrial automation, robotics, consumer electronics, and optimization. Fuzzy set theory is a particularly useful tool to describe situations in which the data are imprecise or vague. In this UWI-led study, a new and simple mathematical technique is developed to solve an algebraic system of linear equations containing fuzzy uncertainties. To validate the technique, various example problems were solved and compared with existing results. The research results can assist engineers and scientists in decision making, and find many applications in finance, economics, computer science, physics and engineering.
