Dr. Alison S. Gajadhar is the Managing Director of KMA Consulting Ltd., Saint Lucia. She is passionate about organizational development and finds joy in applying natural science and living systems theory to business ecosystems. Understanding the importance of a supportive external facilitatory business environment, she fervently believes that business sustainability can only be achieved by healthy organizations, and that an organization’s health is directly proportional to the level of engagement of its people, working cohesively within flexible structures and systems. Dr. Gajadhar areas of expertise includes governance and operational management systems for strategic alignment, and improved efficiency and effectiveness, optimization of business processes and national and regional quality infrastructures, and good technical regulatory practice.
Dr. Gajadhar’s professional experience spans over two decades. During this time she has worked to institute improvement initiatives within organizations in the areas of governance, standardization, quality, conformity assessment, business development, manufacturing, professional and health services. Additionally, she has collaborated with international and regional organizations to help governments address quality Infrastructural issues (accreditation, conformity assessment, standardization, metrology and market surveillance) and technical regulatory frameworks. Dr. Gajadhar further served as the National Representative for ISO TC 309 (Governance of Organizations) and ISO TC 262 (Risk Management) as well as the Member Representative for ISO TC 176 (Quality Management and Quality Assurance). She is also affiliated with a globally recognized network of consultants, using proven tools and techniques to assist organizations tackle performance issues related to the Human Factor.
Dr. Alison Gajadhar (and Emeritus Professor Ishenkumba Kahwa, former Dean FST-Mona) are the co-authors of Chapter 6 (with a focus on CARICOM) of UNESCO’s seventh edition of its Global Science Report released in June 2021. Dr. Gajadhar graduated from the Faculty of Science and Technology (formerly Natural Sciences) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pure Chemistry and Food Chemistry and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry. She also has a background in Law, Quality Management and Productivity, and Project Management.
