Chemistry Postgraduate Student awarded AMLC-Student Grant-in-Aid of Caribbean Marine Research

Pearl Bergan, a Postgraduate student in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology at The University of the West Indies, Mona was recently awarded a 2024 Student Grant-in-Aid of Caribbean Marine Research from the Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean (AMLC) to support her research focused on addressing water quality issues and the impacts of submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) in the Kingston Harbour. The grant programme supports research by AMLC student members working at member institutions and aims to increase collaboration and diffusion of knowledge among the member institutions. Pearl is supervised by Dr. Debbie-Ann Gordon-Smith, an Environmental Chemist in the Department of Chemistry.
