BOOST Fellow Thea May Leads Foga High’s VM EnRich Club to Victory with Natural Soap Innovation

BOOST Fellow and Information Technology teacher Thea May has once again demonstrated her exceptional leadership and mentorship skills by guiding the VM EnRich Club at Foga High School to a first-place victory at this year’s VM EnRich Social Enterprise programme expo hosted on June 11, 2025. VM EnRich Social Enterprise programme, powered by the Victoria Mutual Foundation, aims to equip teenagers with the requisite tools to help increase their knowledge of social innovation and entrepreneurship while developing core skills for leaning and work.

As Co-Advisor, Thea May worked closely with fellow teachers Stephans Simpson and Petrena Pettigrew, inspiring and supporting students to develop their winning project, "Schoolas Hand Shield – Natural Soap." This innovative product is a 100% natural Jamaican soap line infused with ingredients like ginger, fever grass, peppermint, coconut oil, and charcoal, highlighting both cultural heritage and wellness.

The students were able to successfully pitch their product to a panel of judges, showcasing not only creativity but also strong entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork. Her dedication to nurturing student talent and promoting STEM education has been central to the club’s ongoing success.

Congratulations to Thea May and the entire VM Enrichment Club team on this outstanding accomplishment!
