In his own words below he traces his journey since UWI.
“After graduating from UWI, I worked as a software engineer at Fujitsu-ICL in Jamaica. After three years, I earned a Commonwealth scholarship, to do my Masters in actuarial science at City, University of London in England. After my studies, I worked as a part-qualified consulting actuary, advising trustee boards and sponsors of UK pension plans on all major areas. A few years after qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, I specialised in investment consulting and worked in a number of leadership roles in global consulting firms. I now work for Janus Henderson Investors, a large global asset management company.
I care about education and mentorship. I’m on a mission to help improve the lives of others, by realising their educational, financial and employment aspirations. I serve as a Board member for the Janus Henderson Foundation which does philanthropic work to enhance education around the world. I’m also a professional mentor for the Amos Bursary, a charity that provides scholarships to talented young British men, of Caribbean and African heritage, to realise their full academic potential and secure good professional jobs.”
Outside of his professional life, Norbert has many years of experience singing, working in theatre, doing corporate presentations and lends his talents to the world of voiceovers in the UK!
