The University of the West Indies, Mona, regrets to inform you that our former colleague, Ms. Chantal Marriott, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
Ms. Marriott was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology in 2014 from the Faculty of Science and Technology. She later joined The University of the West Indies, Mona in 2018 as a demonstrator before being promoted to Senior Laboratory Technologist in Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences. Ms. Marriott was an MPhil student specialising in molecular biology and biotechnology at the time of her passing.
In light of this death, the UWI flags will be flown at half-mast on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 and on the day of her funeral.
The University extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Ms. Marriott.
