The Faculty of Science and Technology and by extension The University of the West Indies, Mona, regrets to inform you that our former colleague, Dr. Victor Douse, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Dr. Douse joined The UWI Mona in 2000 as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and Technology's Department of Physics. During his tenure, he served in various roles including demonstrator, teaching assistant, assistant lecturer and lecturer. He served as Chair or Vice Chair on three national committees, including the National Aggregates Technical Committee, the National Building and Associated Materials Technical Committee, and the National Cement Technical Committee. He continued in faithful service to the institution until his retirement in 2021.
In light of his death, The UWI flags will be flown at half-mast on Thursday, June 1, 2023, and on the day of his funeral.
The University extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Dr. Douse.
