The University of the West Indies, Mona and by extension the Faculty of Science and Technology regrets to inform you that our former colleague, Mrs. Lydia Gooden-Gordon, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Mrs Gooden-Gordon joined The University of the West Indies, Mona in 2006 as a Laboratory Technologist in the Department of Life Sciences (DLS). Her drive for knowledge, combined with her love of the sciences, motivated her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology.
During her years at The UWI, Mona Campus, she gave exemplary service and was appointed as a Laboratory Technologist and later promoted to Senior Laboratory Technologist in 2016. She was an active team member in the department’s staff engagement activities. She will be remembered for her positive outlook, bright smile, diligence and dedication to the staff and students of the DLS.
In light of her death, The UWI flags will be flown at half-mast on April 7, 2025.
The University extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Mrs Lydia Gooden-Gordon.
