Senior Human Resource Assistant I Wellness and Employee Relations

Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties of the Senior Human Resource Assistant I are; but not limited to the following:
- Assists the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR)Total Rewards, with implementing and monitoring The University’s Health and Wellness Policy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Assists the SAR to foster, design, manage and implement a comprehensive wellness plan through a variety of initiatives and programmes
- Provides support to the SAR on employee relation matters and HR interventions
- Conducts research and prepares reports on various wellness matters
- Organizes, coordinates, and facilitates audits, surveys, and other similar data collection activities to assist with intervention initiatives
- Assists with the design and execution of HR interventions with the supervision and guidance of the SAR and/or Director
- Assist the SAR and Director-ESD with change management and culture building activities and projects
- Prepares reports on all wellness activities/campaigns
- Arranges workshops and seminars and make presentation to staff
- Facilitates a variety of wellness activities including support groups, health and wellness campaigns
- Serves as the main liaison person with The University Health Centre
- Creates and maintain a repository of Employee Relations and Wellness matters
- Coordinates the preparation of and updates the ER&W repository with documents, policies and Procedural Manuals
- Arranges, co-ordinates and service meetings
- Attends meetings, and takes notes on the direction of the SAR
- Assists with curating/creating information on employee relations, industrial relations and wellness matters for the Office of the Campus Registrar’s website
Qualifications and Experience:
- An undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Management Studies or other related degree
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resource Management, Management Support, Office Administration and Customer Services
- Intermediate/Advanced Level Proficiency in the use of an Enterprise system eg.HRMIS and Office Applications such as Microsoft Suite and Project Management tools.
Skills and Competencies:
- Report writing skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, diplomatic and assertively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
