Who is classified as a “Study Abroad” student?
Study Abroad students, also known as “Free Movers”, are students from non-partner institutions who choose to study at The UWI Mona independently of any formal exchange agreement. These students typically organise their study abroad experience directly and may enroll for one semester or one academic year, paying tuition on a per-credit basis.

Step 1: Confirm Your Eligibility and Academic Fit
- Review your current programme of study and determine how a semester or year at The UWI Mona aligns with your academic goals.
- Ensure that your home institution is able to support your study abroad plans and recognise credits earned.
Step 2: Submit the Provisional Incoming Mobility Form
- Complete the Provisional Incoming Mobility Form to begin your study abroad journey.
- This form allows our team to review your interest and provide guidance on the next steps.

Step 3: Explore Courses and Academic Options
- Review available courses using the Faculty Handbooks and faculty websites.
- Identify courses that align with your academic programme and ensure you meet any prerequisite requirements.

Note: The Faculty of Medical Sciences does not participate in the Study Abroad Programme.
Step 4: Complete the Official Application
- After reviewing your provisional submission, you will be guided through the official application process.
- Complete the application as instructed and submit the required supporting documents:
- A photocopy of your passport data page
- An official transcript
- Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
- Additional documents may be required depending on your programme of study.

Additional Guidelines
- Students are responsible for ensuring that selected courses are compatible with their degree requirements at their home institution.
- Study Abroad students are enrolled as fee-paying students and are required to cover tuition and related costs.
