The Earthquake Unit is funded by the Government of Jamaica.
Additional donors to the Earthquake Unit include:
- Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) - Funded the upgrade of the Jamaica Seismograph Network and the Jamaica Accelerograph Network as part of a World Bank program.
- Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) - Funds the equipment for the Jamaica National Data Center (NDC-JM), and periodical training for the Earthquake Unit staff.
- The National Science Foundation (NSF) - Funds the Jamaica GPS Network for the GPS Campaign Site Measurement.
- Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) - Donated US$30,000 for the acquisition of an Accelerograph.
- Jamaica National Building Society Foundation - Funded the initial Solar Power System installation at the Earthquake Unit.
- Globe Insurance Company West Indies Limited - Funded the refurbishment of the Stony Hill Seismograph Station.
