Sir,

We have previously reported that MPV is decreased in nasal polyp patients compared to control subjects. We are grateful to Erdur et al for precious criticism of this article. First of all, we agree with Erdur et al in terms of MPV has not been fully elucidated as an inflammatory marker in certain circumstances.

Synopsis: 
Mean platelet volume (MPV), a surrogate marker of platelet function, was found to be associated with inflammatory diseases. Results showed that MPV was significantly lower in patients with nasal polyps compared to control subjects.
