Eligibility: 

The Bursary is open to Jamaican Nationals who are:

  • Graduates of The St. Jago High School
  • Undergraduate students pursuing the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus.
  • Can demonstrate verifiable financial need

 

Method of Selection: 

Applicants short-listed based on the following:

  • Undergraduate students accepted into year 1 of the MBBS programme or a GPA of 3.0 for students in years 2 to 5 of the programme.
  • Candidates would be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the University and members of Class of 1978-5A’s Committee. The interview process can be waived if there is only one eligible student available.
