The Chaplaincy refers to the team of Chaplains appointed to serve at The UWI, Mona Campus (including the WJC site). The University currently has eight (8) Chaplains at Mona comprising a representative for each of the selected ‘mainstream’ Christian denominations. A ninth Chaplain is also expected to be appointed to serve at the WJC site starting in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
The Chaplains play an integral role in the life and effectiveness of the university experience. Their primary responsibility is to develop and maintain the spiritual agenda for the Campus Community, which is accomplished through their many facets of ministry: worship, counseling, workshops, seminars and continuing studies. The Chaplains also serve the Campus stakeholders by assisting with the development of policies and by participating in programmes that will enrich the spiritual experience of the institution.
Leaders appointed by their faith communities to provide spiritual, emotional and pastoral care for all stakeholder groups on Campus.
