Mr. James Moss-Solomon, CD

The University of the West Indies, Mona, regrets to inform you that one of our colleagues, Mr. James Moss-Solomon, CD, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Mr. Moss-Solomon joined the UWI family in 2003 to 2007 at the then Mona School of Business (MSB). In 2012, he returned to Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM), where he was appointed Executive-in-Residence and served until his death.

He was a former chairman of the board of directors of the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), former president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, and founding director of GraceKennedy Foundation.

Mr. Moss-Solomon’s service in both the private and public sectors has been recognized by his colleagues and countrymen. He was awarded the Order of Distinction, Commander Class (CD) by the Jamaican government in 2012.

In light of his death, The UWI flags will be flown at half-mast on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

The University extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Mr. Moss-Solomon.
