“Effect of Monetary Policy, Structural Changes and Hurricanes on Tourism and Economic Growth of Jamaica†is the title of the inaugural professorial lecture to be delivered by Edward E. Ghartey, Professor of Economics, UWI, Mona. The lecture is scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2011 at 3 pm at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre (SSLT), UWI, Mona.
The study examines the causal relationships among economic growth, tourism expansion, the real exchange rates, structural changes and hurricanes effect in Jamaica over the period 1963 to 2008.
