The Centre for Disability Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences, UWI Mona is inviting you to an Official UN Side Event for the Conference of States Parties (COSP) on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

The CDS side event will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm via Zoom and YouTube.

The topic to be discussed is, “Eradicating the Tensions: Maximizing the Potential of Persons with Disabilities through Technology and Employment in the Post-COVID-19 Era in the Caribbean.”

Our presenters include:

  1. Senator Dr. Floyd Morris-Presenting on the conflicts and tensions in the Caribbean between the different models of disabilities and how they are impacting on access to employment and technology;
  2.  Ambassador Aubrey Webson-The situation of technology and persons with disabilities in the Caribbean;
  3.  Miss Gloria Goffe- The situation of employment and persons with disabilities in the Caribbean
  4.  Dr. Armstrong Alexis- How to get greater access to technology and employment for persons with disabilities in the Post-COVID-19 era in the Caribbean.
