Will I still be able to do ‘Exams Only’ for a course?
Yes. However it is important to note that there will be no face-to-face or sit-down exams.
Students will only be eligible for “Examinations Only” in the following circumstances:
- He/she has failed one or two of the final courses required to complete the degree at the end of their final year and obtained a mark within the F1 range that is no less than 45% in each course.
- He/she has obtained a medical excuse, certified by the University Health Centre, for not having attempted an a final exam.
- He/she has been approved for the deferral of sitting exam of account of special or extenuating circumstances. (see regulations below)
Deferral of Sitting Examinations

In exceptional circumstances, the Dean may grant a student a deferral from sitting an exam and permission to take it on a subsequent occasion, by virtue of special assignments overseas for an employer, being selected to represent the country on a national team, or on compassionate grounds. In all instances, formal letters will have to be provided by the employer/national association or relevant institution.
