Join us in congratulating Shullette Cox a FSS Alumna who has been appointed as the new President of JAMPRO. During her time at the university she was an International Relations and Economics double major. This a testament for where she has landed herself today. In January the Board of Directors at JAMPRO appointed Ms.Cox as the acting President from her long term position of Vice President. Here she led a team which recently did the highly successful Ministerial Mission to Guyana. Since Ms.Cox did such impeccable work in this position Chairman, Mrs. Melanie Subratie and its Deputy Chairman, the Hon. Ian K. Levy eventually decided to make her acting position permanent.

Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is a well-known trade and investment promotions corporation which represent the government of Jamaica under the Ministry of Industry, Investment & Commerce. JAMPRO promotes export and investment business prospects to the local and global private sector as well as being an advisor to the government in matters to improve Jamaica’s business sector. During Ms. Cox’s eleven (11) years at JAMPRO she was tasked with various responsibilities such as internal research projects and surveys, opportunity packaging, proactive policy advocacy, and projects.

In addition to her many achievements it is to be noted that Shullette Cox also sits on various boards, such as, the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) and Jamaica International Financial Services Authority (JIFSA) and the Development Bank of Jamaica’s Credit Enhancement Fund (CEF). Shullette’s position and accomplishments are such an inspiration to all throughout our faculty. Not only is she inspiring a generation of future economists but an entire generation of young black women who aim to be in high positions of power like hers. We’d like to once again congratulate Shullette Cox on her new appointment as President of JAMPRO.

We’re so proud of you !!
