Climate change, evidenced by intensified extreme weather events which disrupt ecosystems and threaten lives as well as livelihoods on a global scale, continues to pose threats especially to already fragile island states of the Caribbean. There is thus the need to prepare a future-ready workforce that will bolster all mitigation efforts. TVET, being the means by which STEM and all other knowledge (including the Arts) is applied, is hence relied upon to fill workforce demands for the new normal in labour markets.
This Conference therefore seeks to address 5 strands that will support exploration of the aforementioned theme from all angles.
