Intramural Football kicks off today

The highly anticipated Intramural football competition kicks off today at the UWI Mona Bowl. The competition is planned and organized by the Guild of Students in collaboration with the Sports Department.

The competition which runs for four weeks will see the seven halls of residence- Irvine, Taylor, Rex Nettleford, Preston, Mary Seacole, Chancellor, ABC an Towers; a workers team and Western Jamaica Campus vying for the coveted title. The rivalry gets underway today with a double header both in the female and male division. Defending female champions Taylor Hall will go up against Rex Nettleford Hall and Mary Seacole Hall facing Irvine Hall at 2:00pm. Meanwhile in the male division, defending champions Irvine Hall tackles Chancellor Hall at and Towers facing ABC Hall at 3:30pm.  

Games Committee Chairperson for the Guild of Students, Shawn Parkinson said this year promises to be bigger and better. "We have mores sponsors on board this year and we are looking to turn the finals into a grand affair. Supporters are in for a treat with half time shows, prizes and surprises." Patrona are definately in for a treat.
