The UWI Track and Field Invitational is set for Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the UWI/Usain Bolt Track, UWI Bowl. The one day event is the final qualifying track and field meet before the High Schools Athletic Championships- 'Boys and Girls Champs' in the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association's (JAAA) calendar. The event hosts over 2000 athletes from High schools, Colleges, Universities and Clubs in Jamaica and other participating Caribbean Territories.
The UWI Pelicans team is in high gear as preparations continue for their track and field season with the invitational being atop of the list. The team is hopeful that they’ll be able to capture a few medals both in the individual and team category on race day. One such individual is scholarship recipient and 100m Sprinter Deuce Carter.
