Urine IL-8 is the Predictive Biomarker of Steroid Sensitivity in Patients with Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2014.363
Synopsis:
We conducted a prospective study on idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS) to explore the changes in the urine IL levels of the patients to discover the noninvasive indicators for predicting and dynamically monitoring steroid efficacy in the steroid therapy of INS patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The study aimed to explore the correlation between urine interleukin (IL)-8, 6, 10, 17 levels and the efficacy of steroid in patients with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS).

The Effect and Mechanisms of Proliferative Inhibition of Crocin on Human Leukaemia Jurkat Cells

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2016.053
Pages:
473–9
Synopsis:
Crocin promoted Jurkat cell apoptosis and inhibited cell growth in a dose-time-dependent manner. These results suggest that crocin can be used as a suitable clinical agent for the treatment of T-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Insulin Value-added after Taking Glucose vs Blood Glucose Value-added after Sixty minutes Taking Glucose as a Good Index for Estimating βeta Cell Function by Non-specific Insulin Assay

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2014.333
Pages:
208–13
Synopsis:
Serum true insulin (TI), immunoreactive insulin (IRI), and glucose level in fasting and during an OGTT were measured in NGT,IGT and DM. We calculated ΔI60/ΔG60, HOMA-B and MBCI (Modified Beta Cell function Index) to estimate Beta cell function.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the clinical significance of measuring serum true insulin (TI) in overweight and the non-obese with varying degrees of glucose tolerance, we estimated βeta cell (β- cell) function by calculating indices.
