Endovascular Coil Occlusion of a Traumatic Pseudoaneurysm of the Posterior Cerebral Artery

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.609
Pages:
Synopsis:

A 51-year-old male developed traumatic pseudoaneurysms of the right and left posterior cerebral arteries following endoscopic resection of a pituitary adenoma. The right sided aneurysm resolved spontaneously but the left progressed in size. This was treated endovascularly, with successful embolization of the sac. This is the first report of this approach to management of a pseudoaneurysm of the posterior cerebral arteries to our knowledge.

Inflamed Appendix in an Incarcerated Femoral Hernia

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2018.073
Pages:
68-70

ABSTRACT

The presence of appendicitis in an incarcerated femoral hernia is an extremely rare occurrence, known as De Garengeot’s hernia, with potentially serious complications. An incarcerated femoral hernia was noticed intraoperatively, and the hernial sac, closely fused with femoral blood vessels, contained the phlegmonously inflamed vermiform appendix. Appendectomy and mesh hernioplasty were carried out. The postoperative period was uneventful.
