This course is designed to provide exposure to the principles and instrumentation of radiology, and computed tomography medical imaging systems. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the relations between imaging system design, image quality, and safety. Measurement techniques for the evaluation of medical imaging systems are reviewed. Medical physicists plays an essential role in the radiology department. They ensure all measures are in place to yield quality diagnostic images with available imaging modalities and that the modalities are safe to use clinically. A good understanding of the principles of radiology is mandatory for physicists to fulfil clinical duties
