About the Lecturer
From age 20 Stina embarked on extensive world travels, touching 53 countries and has gained invaluable knowledge in areas such as poverty, sustainable development and environmental issues. At present, Stina is involved in several projects in the Caribbean Island of St Vincent, functioning as the Resident Principal of the Richmond Vale Academy, Project Manager of Richmond Vale Hiking Center, VG Horse School and the organic farm at the Academy. In March 2012, Stina and the teachers council introduced a 10 year program in climate compliance at the Academy and dubbed the program “The Climate Compliance Conference”, which is a new kind of environmental movement that seeks to educate, and raise awareness in the process, about nutrition security, solar energy, and organic farming for the next 10 years in St Vincent.

About the Lecture
With a ten years’ perspective, Richmond Vale Academy launched its St. Vincent Climate Compliance Conference 2012-2021, aimed at making St. Vincent a climate compliant country, one of the first of its kind globally. Under the action the country will be ready for climate change, and become a food and energy secure nation. The conference is a 10 year standing action conference where Vincentians are mobilized to (among other things) plant trees, manage waste disposal, stop pollution, promote renewable energy, and study and teach about global warming and climate change. The lecture is about how the initiative started, how people are being mobilized, where the movement is heading and what lessons can be learnt concerning practical measures for Facing the Challenge of Climate Change and Global Warming.
