Registration Tutorial (Video)

Add Courses

  1. Access Student Administration System (SAS)

  2. Click on “Enter Secure Area”

  3. Enter your user ID number and password in the space provided to log in

  4. From the "Main Menu", click “Student Services”

  5. Click on "Registration"

  6. Click “Select Term” (select the correct academic year and semester) then click “Submit”

  7. Click “Add/Drop Classes" followed by the "Class Search”  link found at the bottom of the page)

  8. Select the subject area for the course, (e.g. “ECON) then “Course Search”  All courses with that subject will be listed

  9. Click “View Section” beside the course you are searching for.  All sections of the course will be displayed

  10. Click "Class Search" to obtain information. 

  11. Identify the courses you wish to select - make note of the Course Registration Number (CRN)

  12. Click inside the select box for one of each section listed (e.g. select one lecture section, select one tutorial section, select one lab etc.)

  13. Click “Register” (found at the bottom of the page) to select courses

  14. Confirm your registration by clicking “Student”, then “Registration”, then “Registration Status and Financial Clearance”

Request Override

For course registration errors that would occur after completing step 14, (e.g. Lecturer Approval Required)

  1. Upon getting the “Lecturer Approval Required” or "Maximum Credit" registration add error message (reflecting with a red coloured alert icon/ symbol), Click the “Request Override” found at the bottom of the page
  2. When the "Course Overrides"  page appears, click the “Select Course” drop down box, then the course, then type a reason in the box to the right to help inform the lecturer, department or faculty staff attending to override requests
  3. Click the “Submit Request” button

Observe the course with the error message listed across the screen which confirms that your override request was correctly made.  Follow up with the lecturer, Department or Faculty Office who may have responsible for granting approvals for the course error received.  Click here for registation add errors and corresponding request handlers.

Drop Courses

To remove courses prior to the close of the the official registration period.

  1. Repeat steps 1 through to 7 above
  2. Select "++WebDrop++" in the "Action" column next to the course to be dropped
  3. Click "Submit Changes"
