Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.584
Pages:

Methods: All asthmatics 12 to 65 years of age using a MDI and attending an urgent care clinic on selected clinic days over a five-month period were administered a questionnaire and had their MDI technique evaluated.

A Foreign Body in Infant Palate: A Case Report

Issue:
DOI:

Pages:

ABSTRACT

This report aims to discuss the occurrence and differential diagnosis in hard palate foreign bodies in infants. We present the case of a 16-month-old girl who was found to have plastic part of a toy embedded in her hard palate as a foreign body. The foreign body was extracted with care to avoid aspiration. The possibilities of misdiagnosis and airway aspiration are discussed. Great care was focused on the prevention of airway aspiration.

Primary Endobronchial Leiomyoma

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.567

ABSTRACT

Leiomyoma accounts for less than 2% of the benign tumours of the lung. These lesions are usually asymptomatic. However, they can present symptoms depending on the localization. The HRCT of a 57-year-old male patient with cough, sputum and shortness of breath ongoing for 2 months revealed a 5 mm lesion in the inferior lingular bronchus. The report of the bronchoscopic biopsy was leiomyoma, and the patient underwent lingulectomy.

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.557
Pages:

ABSTRACT

Anorectal malformations have long been associated with multiple other anomalies, commonly referred to as the VACTERL complex. We present a case of a newborn baby girl with an unusually high number of associated anomalies, including the rarely encountered condition of uterus didelphys.

Cleıdocranıal Dysplasıa: A Rare Skeletal Dysplasıa

ABSTRACT

Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasia. Hypoplastic clavicles, delayed closure of the cranial sutures, dental abnormalities, and short stature are main features in this syndrome. RUNX2 is the responsible gene for CCD. Here we reported two cases with CCD; they are admitted to clinic for short stature and dental abnormalities. We report these cases to increase the awareness of clinicians.
