Public Policy and Management Internship Programme

Course Code:
GOVT3115
Course Description:
The internship is designed for students in the final stages of the BSc Public Policy and Management (Major) programme and provides an opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience gained during the first two years of study in a manner that is mutually beneficial to both the student and the host agency. The internship emphasizes adequate supervision, meaningful educational assignments, and practical value for both the student and the agency. Typically undertaken over a six-week period during the summer, the internship enables students to participate in and observe the day-to-day administrative and policy-related activities of a Government of Jamaica ministry, department, or agency as full-time members of staff. Students may apply for the internship at the start of either their second or final year of study.
